In twelve years I have never once prescribed straps for a child
Straps make glasses uncomfortable. Your child will quickly associate wearing glasses with being uncomfortable and will not want to wear them.
In every single case referred to me, I have found that the real problem was that the glasses fit poorly. Parents need to realize that the only thing the child cares about is being able to see. What we need to do is give them the opportunity to enjoy good vision by making the glasses as comfortable as possible, not by forcing our will on our children.
